12m Displacement cat under construction

This new Roger Hill design is exclusive to Alloy Cats (NZ) Ltd, and features a displacement form with as much shape as can be attained from a single alloy bottom plate. It is very warped and transitions from very fine forward to flat sections aft.

It should be a very efficient shape that has some extra lift generated by the aft sections, much more than a ‘normal’ displacement cat. This first craft will be fitted with diesel inboards of around 170 to 190hp. Top speed is predicted in the mid twenties. Other motive power options would include outboards or stern drives.

The lower deck accommodation has two aft cabins with a large single berth and twin forward cabins with either a double berth in each or two singles. On the main deck there is a cockpit head, galley, settee with dining table and a centre line helm station.

It is planned to launch this powercat for the September 2014 Auckland Boatshow.
