Description
If your L&R Boat Latch is installed but the snare is sitting close to the winch platform when the roller contacts the bow, you may need the Roller Extender. It’s a simple, bolt-on solution that projects the roller further forward so it wedges correctly between the bow and the towing eye — giving you the clean, reliable launch and retrieval you bought the latch system for.
The Roller Extender is most commonly required on aluminium towing eye boats where the geometry of the bow and winch platform means the standard roller position doesn’t reach far enough.
Once fitted correctly, the roller does two jobs: it stops the boat at the right point on retrieval, and it prevents the boat moving up and down on the trailer while towing. Getting the roller position right is what makes the whole system work as intended.
How it adjusts: Four horizontal adjustment positions give you flexibility fore and aft, while slotted holes allow vertical adjustment so the roller sits at exactly the right angle for your bow. Total projection range is 43mm to 91mm.
Kit includes:

Is this the right part for me? If the snare on your L&R Latch is close to hitting the winch platform when the roller is against the bow, you need the Roller Extender. If you’re unsure, check the L&R installation resources or feel free to get in touch with us before ordering.
