Sam, Brock, and Braden loaded up the Kingfisher 510 Powercat and pointed the bow at Great Barrier, chasing snapper and kingfish across one of New Zealand’s most iconic stretches of water.

The plan was kingfish and big snapper. The kingfish showed up but wouldn’t bite — so the crew adapted, working the shallows with soft baits and finding the snapper in fine form. That’s Great Barrier fishing: you go prepared, you stay flexible, and you take what the day gives you.
