The design and build of commercial craft has become a large part of our business.
Many of our earlier boats were the pontoon type craft that proved popular as houseboats (We designed and built the Lazy Days range of houseboats). Since then we have perfected the catamaran type hulls for these boats, of which Wahinemoa, a function boat on the Raglan Harbour, is typical.
In our Kingfisher monohull range we have completed boats for hydrographic surveys, passenger craft, crewboats for fish farming ventures, the Dept of Conservation and barge type vessels for commercial operations both in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Kingfisher powercats in our commercial fleet are in use as tourist boats, ferries, and game fishers. The Tauranga Harbour masters patrol vessel is a 8m Kingfisher Powercat.
In the Roger Hill range we have crayfishing powercats operating off the rugged Wairarapa coast, and an 18m vessel for a Queensland Charter operator.
We also build Naiad designed RHIB craft – superyacht tenders and others as Coastguard rescue vessels for Whangamata, Thames, Whakatane, Waihi Beach, plus a 10.5m for the Taupo harbourmaster. We have also completed a Scott Robson 11m monohull for the Maketu Coastguard. Currently under construction is a 15.5m Naiad for Auckland Coastguard.
